PHARMACY

You've looted the safe, it's time to leave. As you look behind you to check that you’re clear. You trip over some stupid kids toy. Who the fuck sells toys at a pharmacy?!

You grab a nearby shelf to steady yourself. An empty prescription bottle falls off the shelf and rattles to the floor. You immediately hear a noise from the casier’s desk. A large fat man with a sawn off shotgun pops up from behind the counter.

OPTION 1 RUSH HIM

You charge at him, wielding your pocket knife and screaming. You’re an invincible viking warrior, no one can take you down. The large fat man shoots you in the head.

You slump to the dirty floor and bleed profusely onto a discarded hustler.

[YOU ARE DEAD]

[RESTART]

OPTION 2 RAISE YOUR HANDS

You raise your hands as the man yells at you.

MAN
Who's there?!

This confuses you as he is staring right at you. You look closer and see that his eyes are darting madly back and forth before they stop and focus on you.

He speaks rapidly. You wonder where he is breathing from.

MAN
Hey hey stay back stay back what do you want are you here for the drugs you better fucking not be I need those do you have any more I need those to focus…

You better stay away from me I need those to make sure those dead fuckers don’t get me you better stay the fuck back man stay the fuck back!

You see that his hands are quivering and sweat is covering his brow, surely he couldn’t hit you from there?

You offer him some of your meds.

MAN
You have it!? You have more oh fuck fuck I need it, I need it to stay sharp man.

You toss the meds up in the air and he takes his eyes off you to follow the bottle. His grip on the weapon loosens.

You dive across the counter and tackle him. You grab the shotgun and you both wrestle for control. He wrenches it free and points the gun at you, shaking.

You look down, the bill bottle is a few inches away.You kick it and he dives for it. He snatches them up greedily and throws them into his mouth, choking them down like a baby bird.

He relaxes immediately and stares at you goggle eyed. You return the stare for an awkward moment.

You ask him if he’s okay. He says nothing. His eyes have glazed over.

You wave your hand in front of his face. His pupils stare straight ahead.

He twitches for a moment, drops the weapon and goes still.

You reach over and gently slide the gun out of his hands. He falls back to the floor, frothing at the mouth.

You watch him for a moment, deciding whether or not to help.

You take pity on him and move to roll him over.

You put your hands on his shoulders and back, just like you learned in that one cpr class with the busty nurse. You tilt him over on his side and he spits up.

You glare at him with disdain and pick up the empty painkiller bottle. There’s one pill left.

You look down at the large man and chuck the bottle, maybe you’ll find something to eat instead.

You sling the shotgun over your shoulder and make your way outside. You head towards the supermarket.
